    After a few months off it’s time to get back to it. Pablo is in the process of helping me with a custom scratchplate for this kit. Although bad news is it was covered with a cloth and left in the shed, the heat has imprinted the cloth into the lacquer.



    If you have followed this thread you will have seen that the lacquer didn’t take to some spots of the colour



    These combined I have made the decision to to strip to the bare wood and start again. I toyed with doing a relic and sanding the problem spots but this won’t be the last time I spray a guitar so I want more practice and get it right! So out with the heat gun this weekend!

    Well that's probably the best option.
    To get the edges straight I try and get a flat plain of sandpaper glued to a ruler and sand the length of the slot as much at once as possible.
    I'm currently trying another Bronco bass mod with a sheet of MDF I got from the big green shed.
    I'll probably put about 5 coats of Molotov clear on and then buff it smooth.
