It's the same car - he's just used two different greyscale filters on the same picture. So pick one colour.
To be honest its only a general rule of thumb. There are a lot of factors that figure into it. I'm also not sure how modern digital cameras handle it specifically. But when I did photography back in the dark(Room) ages, the silver halide crystals on the celluloid definitely clumped more for shades of blue than shades of red.Originally Posted by wazkelly
Colour theory is pretty interesting subject, the difference between additive and subtractive process's comes up a lot in my day job as people don't seem understand that things look different on a computer screen to printed - RGB being additive and CMYK being subtractive... further complicated by us using CMYK to proof with as its closer to how the print will look but generally duller looking on screen.
On the face of it I'd say that car is red, but I also suspect you may have chosen a dark blue metallic colour to make it more difficult to tell
