Some of the parts I've been looking at are brass under the plating so I might do some inspecting - just as many of the cheap ones are that grey di-cast metal under the chrome though so its hard to know.
Beer is too good to waste. Try using the alternative draino.....coca cola as it does a great job on copper and if mect long enough would do a proper job on any metal.

Good point as most of their pre packaged stuff is cheap & nasty crap.

My taste buds must be synchronised with my wallet then as I was drinking that stuff in preference to the over-priced alternatives.
(I'd given up brewing it myself by then).
I've since given up on alcohol altogether (buying it, that is).

    cheers, Mark.

Yeah, I have cut back on a lot of discretionary spending and grog is no longer on the shopping list for the time being. Was not a big drinker so not really missing it at all.
Mind you, I had tried some of those cheapie shop a docket specials at BWS and Dan Murphy's with a few pleasant surprises plus many duds that were hard to swallow.

Well I was, which is the reason for cutting it out altogether.
BTW Aldi wasn't always the cheapest. Coles sometimes sells an aptly titled 'Hammer n Tongs'.
An extended shift in a steel foundry was in order to get thirsty enough to drink the stuff.

    cheers, Mark

Or had you reaching for hammer & tongs to beat yourself with for being so stupid?
