OK, after exercising a super human amount of patience I started buffing back the SG last night.
Blocked back with 1500 then 2000 wet and dry, being extra carful around the holes.
First pass with cutting compound
Quick mockup before knocking off last night
In the sun after this afternoons efforts
The back featuring a scratch I need to fix
Under fluros indoors - its black as night
I'm really happy with how its coming up although I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on it.
There are a couple of scratches I need to go over again and give it a hit with the swirl remover, but wow - it's really doing it for me. The boy may have to have one of the other guitars to call his own
Also working on my truss rod cover which will eventually feature the headstock logo down the middle. I'm just using some aluminium flat bar, should go well with the alumitone hum buckers.
I also got a bunch of push pull pots in the mail. I'm planning to do this one so you can split the neck and bridge and use them as single coils.
