For my eye, I would come across a bit more with the darker colour on each side, even if you lose a little of the quilt, to balance it a bit more. Maybe at least through the centre of the control plate.?Originally Posted by Sonic Mountain

Yeah it looks a bit wide I agree. I was going suggest doing like this:
But I don't know how achievable that would be by just staining the quilt. You would reed to route a shallow cavity and do inlays I think. Anyway, something to think about.

Well.I think for me its going into the 2 hard basket.So i am going to put it up for sale or swap.
