I'm back on the acoustic guitar build hype! I've booked myself into a course in September to build my own acoustic guitar on the Gold Coast. Soooo looking forward to it!
Here are some builds that have come from the course!

I'm in love with this quilted camphor wood, and if something similar is available, I'll be jumping at this!!

I've got in mind to do a rosette similar to this design made from scrap pieces of leftover timber, but maybe sourcing scraps from the other students in the course to make it a tribute to the group.

Also looking at using the same technique to do an inlay at the 12th fret, and one for the headstock also.
It's an expensive course at $3,850 including a hardcase and cutaway. Grover tuners, Graphtec nut and bridge are included, but there are other upgrades available too.
See the link below to see what else is covered.

Yes, very nice work. I have considered a similar course through Wheeler Guitars, just con't justify the outlay (and i've got too many projects running!)

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

It's only a two week course, so there's a lot to cram in, but Aaron, the guy teaching us, says most guitars are finished well within that time frame.

Yes, it's a lot of cash, but what I've seen of the guitars coming out of the classes, they rival acoustics from most high end brands like Martin and Taylor at twice the dollar value.
Can I ask how much Wheeler are charging for a course?
They certainly have an old world charm to their workshop. Reminds me of Thomas Lloyd guitar building school at Monslavat in Victoria.

Have no fear of that! I'll be flooding the thread daily with new photos!

It starts around the 3K mark, subject to variation depending on your timber selections and how much “in class” intensive time you opt for.
