I haven't used danish oil but Ive used plenty of tru oil. I wouldn't worry about the scratches, you can always lay down more coats. you need to wet sand which will take the initial gloss off, then buff up the grades with a set of micromesh pads, once you get past 3000 it will gloss up again.
