    This time, I was done with the varnish
    I sanded it, take oof a little bit more of the red color on the sides, whitch were not really looking good.

    guess what?.... I went back to oil to just to see if it can works. that was the last thing i wanted to try before, maybe considering to start it all again from th beginning.

    I did it yesterday, that was looking good, this is magical for the wood grain!!
    I went to see how it dries today, and it still looks pretty good to me. the top of the body was still a little greasy, so I'll wait before adding some more.

    That's better.

    Wondered whether sprinkling glitter on top of the wet clear and allowing it to dry in a layer of finish might work better? Perhaps use an old fashioned pepper shaker for a light and semi even spread?
