Bare Knuckles have arrived and you know what? I'm thrilled with how it looks.
I'm also realising just how awful I am with wiring. Fitting it all in the cavity is insane, very difficult for someone with my lack of skill to do this with such a small amount of space. . The wiring's also made a touch more difficult with the pickup wires being braided 2 - I have to solder two massive metal wires to the one pot. It's a mess, and I've struggled a lot with it. But I'm sure it'll all work out in the end.
Dad's commented a few times on how it looks. I'm still so happy he doesn't know it's for him yet.
