    MJG I like all of them except 3. I think black edges and red centre will look the best and a sponge effect with some black paint on the red parts. I've seen it done before with a plastic bag dipped lightly in the paint and dab it on lightly. Have a practice run first !

    Have several practice runs first! It's not going to be easy to do it well and consistently. All it takes is one big solid black blob to appear on an otherwise 99% perfect application and it's time to sand it all down and start again.

    I'm starting to think you might be able to do the effect with quick bursts from a small airbrush with a narrow pattern and thinned paint, just holding it at different distances away from the surface for smaller and larger blotches.
