    I do have one issue that I'm trying to chase, and I think it has to do with the nut.
    For some reason, after tuning the guitar, the G string(I always have troubles with G-Strings!) sounds fine open, but as soon as I play a chord like D, for instance, it's out of tune dramatically(sharp). I placed a capo on the third fret, and re-tuned it to experiment, and it plays perfectly. Would anyone suggest lowering the slot for this string?

    I have an Epi LP Custom, and they are notorious for G string tuning issues (Gibson LP's too I am told by a muso mate). Has something to do with the angle of the string from the nut to the tuner. I watched a Youtube vid on it recently when a dude filed the nut to try and fix it and it seemed to work.
