    Update:

    The weather in Darwin seems to have dried up a bit, but I reckon the humidity is a bit high, anyway, thought it would be a good time to post an update, so here it is.

    Just been working on the body of my Gold Strat, and my idea of using some Super Glue to fill in the divots seems to be working pretty well, I managed to sand flat a few of the filled-in divots but there's one that still needs some filling in, which I will be tackling shortly, once all the divots have been filled-in and sanded flat, I'm going to spray the body with a new coat of gold paint and then I'll let it dry for a fortnight before spraying another coat on it, the plan is to spray three coats of gold paint on the body and then once the last coat of paint has dried, I'm going to move on to spraying clearcoat on the body to seal it so that the paint doesn't tarnish, once the clear coat has dried the guitar will be ready for final assembly and setting up with new strings.

    While I'm waiting for the Gold Paint to dry, I will be ordering some new hardware for the guitar from Realtone Music, here's what I will be ordering:

    * A set of three white Kent Armstrong Dual Blade Single-Coil sized Humbucking pickups (since the black ones I ordered for the HotRod Strat worked and sounded good to my ears).

    * A new Gold Jackplate.

    * A set of new Gold scratchplate screws.

    * And a new Triton 5-way pickup selector switch.

    I will also be ordering the new Gold SuperVee Bladerunner Bridge from the SuperVee website along with a shortened Sustainium Bridge block.

    I'm going to be keeping the existing Gold Sperzel tuners, and the rest of the hardware though, I'm looking forward to playing the Gold Strat again, and hopefully I can get a headstock decal sorted for it this year, I might have to try ordering the Waterslide Decal film online since none of the shops I've tried in Darwin seem to stock it.

    Update 2:

    Uh Oh....Just been hearing some thunder so it looks like we're going to be getting some more rain shortly, which means I'll have to hold-off doing any spray-painting for today.

    Hey Doc, good to see you are back on this project. Bummer about the wet season getting in the way of your spray painting.

    Take it easy with the super glue as those fumes are highly toxic.

    Cheers, Waz

    So I understandium....hahahaha....sorry, couldn't resist that.....haha.

    But it does seem to work, I have tried a Bladerunner Bridge before, I had one installed on my old Fender Mexican Strat, and if my ears weren't lying to me, it sounded much better than the original stock bridge, there were more bass frequencies in the tone I was getting out of the guitar and the strings did seem to sustain a bit longer.

    Cheers mate, and good point, I sanded back the cured Super Glue so that it was flush with the surface of the body, the weather in Darwin was a bit drier today so I'll see if I can spray a coat of Gold Paint on the body this weekend, the body is pretty much all ready for it.

    Hopefully I'll have the guitar up and running again in a couple of months or so, will definitely post some pics of the finished guitar, and a link to an audio demo of it, I just started putting something together in FL Studio that I could work on at uni, cause my course doesn't start till the 27th so I've got a few days free, anyway, it's just a rough sketch with a drum track and a bassline, I'm going to see if I can add some guitar tracks to it, and see if I can make something cool sounding out of it, I'll post a link to the finished track in the recording section once it's done, so there'll be two versions, on with the Gold Strat, and the other version that I'll work on at uni.
