Nice grain on the Headstock too.....
I've been struggling to get a decent shot of the neck, the light that best shows the grain also shows the shine, much better in person...

Funny how some like the block markers and others don't.
For me that is the defining look of a J Bass and particularly like it on a maple fret board.
Nice looking Bass Hoby even if you have to live with the blocks. I am sure you will grow to like them over time.
