I was steel wooling the fret board and frets on my other build and my Jbass had been drying for a week with the last intensifyer, so I gave it only a very light rub all over which seemed to safely remove some inconsistency without affecting the finish. Did leave a ton of steel dust though. Magnet picked up a lot then I gave it a thorough dust and another sweep.

Hi Cade, have to agree about how 0000 steel wool easily disintegrates into very small particles. Good to see that you are being very thorough with multiple magnet sweeps.

If you wrapped a magnet in steel wool, would that keep the metal dust from flying away in the first place?

Hmmm, might work better on flat surfaces however steel wool is best used for cleaning up frets which tend to be more round than flat.

Completed job from this weekend. All standard PBG Kit parts used on this build.
Very happy with the Dingotone Color saturation after finishing wax applied. Looks brilliantly vibrant under the sun.
Tone sounds a little flat compared to my precision bass however I need to tinker with intonation more then will try for a video demo.

It is bushfire Sunrise Wokka, 3 stain coats, 3 intensifier coats, 3 finish coats and a light rub of dingotone guitar wax on the fretboard and body. It looks brighter and smoother in person and I'm very happy with it. If I put it out in the sun it very much gets a fire effect and even deeper. this pic is when the sun came through

excellent cheers for that Cade, I always mix up sunrise for sunset in the bushfire !

I'll have a think about a different pickguard colour than the supplied white one. I'd love to try and stick some graphics on like you have !
