Hi Depicted, sorry but I have to ask, how have you got that sound from the Darkstar pickups, the test sounds brilliant, really brilliant, and those pickups are very dark, I have them on an LP too and never have got a sound as shining as that, how have you done it? I need to know XD is the Orange Drop capacitor? Is the Klein mod? Or is it some kind of eq you've used while recording the sound test? I'm really impressed for the quality of the sound, it's an amazing guitar.

Hey depictedminds, where did you source the push/pulls for the Jimmy Page wiring? They seem a bit "exotic" for the places I usually buy my electronic bits and pieces.

The electronics (that I wasnt able to get from pitbull) came from realparts.com.au - but if I was able to get the stuff from pitbull, I did.

In response to the pickups being dark, truth be told, yeah - they are... they brighten up quite a bit if you're splitting them though. But I did have some help with my GSP1101 Preamp, although there's not a lot of EQ through that, just the effects...

Frankly, I think (when listening to it a few times) the rhythm sounds a shade murky - like there's no particular high or low end... But I've also seen quite a few demos of people with the ND Darkstars that sound quite punchy and not overly dark... so I guess it might be the wiring and electrics....

I dunno - One day I might put them in my LTD or Ibanez with it's stock wiring and see how they go. I guess I dont have a huge point of reference...

When I have equalized them, in that case I have got a bright sound, but I've had to mess a lot with the processors to get it, so it has impressed me the sound you've got from them. I agree with you, maybe is the preamp, but I keep on believing that can be the electronic configutation, you have used pretty good components. Anyway the guitar rocks and nothing else matters, that's the important. It's a great guitar.

I've been having a look at the JP Wiring kit and now I agree totally with you, it's that kit, sure, the specs are very good, and the idea of playing with the fase makes the guitar very handy, as you said in the GOTM threat, it gives you a lot of diferents sounds. I've taken a couple of pretty goods ideas, XD
