The other guys built the 'old' version of this kit, with the elegant curvy F holes. Might be a few more differences as I think it's a completely different kit.

Hey Dedman, I might have ended up with your original neck. The kit I bought from a different supplier had a really f*****d up neck - twisted and warped. I had no joy from the supplier and Adam kindly sold me a replacement neck from one of his ES 2V kits.

The reason I didn't go with the Pitbull kit is I just couldn't find any love for the redesigned F holes. I think they're fugly. I found a kit with the F hole design that I prefered, but... as I implied above, it's ended up being a lot more trouble than it should've been.

Whenever I write "F hole", I think I'm gonna get banned...

LOL, yea, I think these might be from the old factory actually as the finish on this one was the worst I've had in all the kits I've built so far, lots of dings, glue and rough sanding, I'm doing it a solid colour so I can use plenty of filler and not worry about sanding though the veneer, also changing the bridge style/height throws a in a whole new dimension. Took me all morning of measuring.....going to cut....going back and measuring again. But I got there :P

That ES-2V that Neverwas made is one of my all-time favourite PitBull builds. I was really gutted when they changed the design.

If this link doesn't work [ It should]

Try downloading Mozilla FIREFOX browser, and using that, as that is the recommended one, and the one I use, and have done for over 10 years.

I use Chrome on all my computers, work included, but I also use Avast Anti-Virus which is throwing up the Malware alert. It could just be the Anti-Virus working overtime. I thought Firefox had been killed off?
Instead of modifying my work computer, I'll install Firefox on my home computer and try it out.

I got rid of all the old amps years ago when I moved into my current 'smaller' place, the HiFi had to go as well, far to big for my current lounge room, replaced the massive tower speakers with some Harbeth SHL5's.
Only amp ATM, and probably ever, is a VOX AC15C1X with Blue Alnico, brilliant amp, bloody LOUD!
Only reason I bought it was the hugely reduced price I got it for, I rung the Guitar store earlier that day asking if they had another VOX amp in stock, and two Fenders I was looking at getting, and they said yes, I promptly got on the train to go and buy the gear, and on arriving approx 2 hours after the phone call, I was told they had sold them.....Believe me, you didn't want to be the guy behind the counter telling me this.

I ended up buying a US Tele, a MEX Strat, a Fulltone Plimsole pedal, and the amp, all for around $3500 or less....guess you got to know how to complain.
The amp itself is usually around $1300

As for pedals, well after going through so many over the years, I got sick of the cable mess that goes with them.
I still have a few, a recently bought Biyang X-D I think it's called, overdrive pedal from China EBAY is a ripper, well worth the princely sum of $60 delivered.
But mainly, I use a Line 6 M 13 stomp box, as it emulates around 120 different pedals, and you can put them in any order you want, it's a brilliant thing to play around with.....when and if I find a particular sound that I want to use, I'll ask around who has those 'Real'
pedals, and borrow them, usually somebody does.
It would cost well over 10K, more like 15k, to actually buy each of the individual pedals emulated in the M13, that's if you could get your hands on them.

I'd opt for the VOX, as it works so well clean, and is easy to get dirty.
Using the Jensen, you would be close to being able to get a Fender sound.
Pretty much the only difference between a VOX and say a Fender is the Fender uses a tube rectifier [more expensive to build]

My experience is, always go for the cleanest sound you can get, that includes speaker choices, as it's very easy to colour your tone afterwards.
You can't do it the other way around..... which is why I said NO to the option of buying the VOX AC15C with Green Back speakers, those ceramic magnets just don't have the magnetic guass needed to push and pull the speaker cone fast or as far enough, as the Alnico magnet fitted Blue speakers do.
The only reason VOX ever used the Greenback, is because after the war, Celestion found it hard to source Alnico magnets, and it was Uber expensive.

I think multi effects units are underrated, I have a Boss GT100 and it does everything, but a good side by side comparison would be interesting
