ST-1JR Build - May the Force be with???

I've got the Dremel 3000 with the flexible shaft. $128 from the green shed.

I also got the plunge router attachment. Some on the forum say that the StewMac plunge router attachment for rotary tool is much more stable (http://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools...uter_Base.html).
I can't comment as I've only used the dremel one, but it does look a lot more solid being all metal.

Looking good Fred. Love the spray booth. You can use some Jedi mind tricks on your wife to score another guitar kit along with the Dremel at Xmas. 'this is the kit I am looking for'

Good progress today, headstock shaped in a typical Star Wars droid head shape:

Now a Star Wars guitar needs lights, doesn't it?
So I found a 'blinking foam stick' leftover from some party and opened it:




3x nice LEDs with a 3mm diameter... just have to drill the scratchplate and insert. The battery and controls will go in the tremolo cavity at the back as the trem won't be needed here.

Also found blank white pickup covers I got for another project. Had to widen the humbucker hole but I like it!

I am now seriously considering upgrading the pickups... hum...

Hey Fred, I tried to offer up a free humbucker and single coil i picked up as samples when I was in China (or Djina as Trump says).

They're supposedly an "upgrade" from the stock Chinese pups. They'd be perfect for this build if you want them. All I ask for is a bit of a review and maybe a sound or vid demo if you think they're any good.
