And....it works. man does it work!. Gotta say the Armstrongs sound great. I may still split the coils although space is kinda minimal in the switch panel atm it has 7 postions, 6 on the swich and the push pull adds "all". It's on;y strung with the chinese strings atm, I'll let it settle for a week or so, then pull them off, do some touch ups and a final polish and put the Slinky's on.
I'll be honest and say I'm not happy with the finish I achieved, I think I should have been more patient trying to get the glue off the top.
I'll also admit I'm more of a Gibson guy and although I had planned to do a Strat it was further down the list. However, I did take my time on the neck and it's really nice to play with a low action and a semi smooth finish (TO unsanded on the last few coats). I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would.
