I was actually thinking about that when I started sanding the body a few days ago, good job, will do that test before I do anything else to the body, cheers.

This week's going to be pretty full-on for me, cause I'm doing some servicing work on a mate's Peavey Triumph amp, the Channel Footswitching isn't working like it's supposed to so I'm going to try and fix it for him.

I've also got my Pedalboard project to work on too, will document it in a thread in the non-PBG gear section.

    Update:

I drilled out each of the mounting screw holes for the original bridge to 6mm so that I could fill them with some 6mm Oak Dowelling, I did this because the original holes had been drilled in the wrong place so that they were about 2mm further from the neck than where they should have been, I glued the pieces of 6mm Oak Dowelling in place with some PVA glue after using a small hammer to hammer them in, after that, I used a hacksaw blade to trim the 6mm Oak Dowelling flush with the top of the Strat Body, next I used a sharp Stanley-knife blade to shave-off excess wood from the 6mm Oak Dowelling so they were perfectly flush, and then a bit of sanding finished the job off.

I think the Strat Body is almost ready to have it's first coat of primer applied, but I might apply some Maple Timbermate first though, just in case some grain needs to be filled.

It looks a bit unsightly, but I reckon it's not going to cause any major issues, since I'm re-finishing the body in a solid colour, besides, most of it is going to be covered up by the new SuperVee Bladerunner Bridge, so I'm not too worried about it at all.

Doc you will have to test if the primer is compatible to go over the DT finish. Do a test somewhere under the pickguard. If it doesn't react then could save you sanding it back to bare wood and re-applying timbermate

Good point Wokka, I'll make sure I do that before I do anything else, if it turns out that it doesn't react, that will save me a lot of time, so what do I need to look out for to tell if the primer is reacting to the Dingotone?, is it just going to refuse to adhere to the wood if it's reacting?, or will I get bubbling or some other weird behaviour?

What I might do today is do a test of the Rust-Oleum Primer I have, and the Super Gold paint on a spare scrap piece of wood, to test the compatibility, if there's no problems that could save me a trip back to my local big green shed.

yeah Doc you will see bubbling of the primer or it may look like orange peel. Let the primer sit for a few minutes it can take time to react. If you are lucky the primer will sit flat

Rightio, cheers for that mate, how's your day going so far?, mine's been going good, the weather's been pretty pleasant so far, sunny, not too hot or cold, just the way I like it to be.

Sounds cool, will definitely check out the pics once they've been posted, I'm just in the process of making myself a decent cup of coffee, had to make do with some instant coffee, but I bought some nice Italian Style Ground Coffee from my local shops just up the road, haven't tried this particular type of coffee before, but should be nice, I started a new thread about the Pedal Board project which I'll be working on this fortnight, will also be putting some Castors on my Marshall amp today so it's not such a pain to cart around.
