@ Marelton as Nitro said if you are ever in doubt of paint compatibility it's always worth spraying colour coat on 1 or 2 test pieces of scrap when you paint the body/neck then go over with the clear coat on the test pieces before the body/neck. Or another option is spray the clear coat over an area covered by a pickguard or an area that will be hidden and mist coats should let you know if there is any rejection

Thanks for the advice, I'll tread carefully.

Planning to add 5% DNA Candy concentrate to Septone Acrylic clearcoat (advised by acrylic paint supplier). Definitely will try on a test panel before destroying weeks of work!

OOPPSS... first major booboo. Didnt predrill the hole deep enough for the tuner screw and managed to burr over the head of the screw so it wasnt all the way in but couldnt get it out. Went and bought a set of needle files and cut a slight but deep groove across the head of the screw and with a normal screwdriver managed to slowly screw it back out. WHEW.

Next step.... copper shielded the pickup cavity. (Note to self......dont cut too big a piece of foil as it tends to rapidly fold in on itself!)
So learning the hard way i cut myself small bits of foil just to be safe. Nicked the wifes manicure set to use tweezers and some other weird looking device, but they worked as the stuff kept sticking to my fingers

Im doing well tonight...next i replaced the plastic nut for a bone one. It slipped in like a glove, glued it in with a couple of drops of LokTite.

Last thing to do, check to see if pickguard fits....YAY all is well, perfect fit.
