Very, very tempting and would probably do it in a dark cherry as I still have some stains left over from the J Bass build. Like the tobacco sunburst ones but not brave enough to do a burst. Did you ever try out the kit supplied PUP's mini humbuckers?

Sorry Waz, ordered the kit without hardware or electronics so can't comment on the stock pups.

You should have a go doing a stain burst, not that hard to do. If you look up Big D Guitars on youtube he has some good tutorials, he tends to use Angelus Leather dyes but I've had good results using colortone and Feast watson prooftint stains, although with Feast watson you pull the colour out with Metho not water.
