Once the headstock shape has been cut sand the headstock face top to bottom with the grain. Sand the sides as you would sand the body sides. Sand the back of the headstock face same as the front - top to bottom with the grain. Sand the back of the neck from headstock to heel and I don't use a sanding block - cup the sandpaper in your hand and hold it in the shape of the neck and sand HS to heel. I start at 120 grit if it is rough, or usually 180 grit is ok and go through to about 400 grit.
Wax wouldn't be very durable for the neck so I suggest a Dingotone neck kit or use whatever you are using for clear coats on the body. I found naughty oil on necks work very well. Maybe with your other kit give the neck a good polish and it should play pretty slick.
    Good luck !
    Hey Wokka,

Well its coming along nicely. I wont post a photo yet, I'm about to do the TO coats but I'm happy so far with how smooth the neck is. I understand this will take a few weeks to put on the coats.

It seems to be light as possible and be patient so I have read.

Should I do the conductive shielding paint before the TO coats?

Hi Alkay. Presume you mean the copper shielding in the control cavity? Do your finishing coats first, let it cure, turn when you are ready to assemble do the copper shielding. If you mean shield painting the control cavity don't apply any tru oil in the cavity. I'd still do the cavity after the tru oil coats

Hey Alkay. Thanks for the kind offer. I've done a few home brews but lack spare time to do them. Keen to hear what type of brews you make?
