Beautiful piece of veneer DB looks amazing. Quick question how do you stop the the pieces lifting in the centre where the veneer joins on centre line while it dries. Love the shape of the body. Great job.

Hey KB, what DB does is rests his beer stein in the centre of the body to weigh it down but problem is the contents of the stein evaporate too quick !

    Too easy Kimball.
I use two chunks of rock maple milled down to 25x25mm 500mm long.
Now the tricky bit.. I machined a slight convex face on each so when you lay them along side the join and clamp them, they push down on the centre of the body forcing the top to sit flush.

(I had taken them off for the purpose of cleaning off the glue squeeze out and a quick pic.)

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

yeah KB, I'm sure DB does drink the steins quick so no condensation is left on the drop top !

I reckon the truth he probably has some old guitar bodies laying around he places on the convex rock maple pieces. I reckon DB has a secret stash of mosrite and Iceman bodies for this purpose (cricket bats have got a bit of weight)

DB I think this is starting out to be one of the nicest builds you've done. So I'm expecting miracles with another certain build lol.
