heers waz. Yes I was doing chromatic scales on every string to the 22nd fret.

I will take your advice and try slowly adjusting the bridge height.

You may need to add in just a touch of neck relief to get rid of all the buzzes (truss-rod slightly anti-clockwise), but see how the bridge height adjustment goes first. Also, if you measured the neck relief immediately after adjusting the truss-rod, you will probably want to go back and check that after it's been sitting there under normal string tension for a day, as it can take time for a neck to fully settle. You may need another small tweak to get it right.

Haha both scenarios work so its a win win situation.

ok so I am still getting fret buzzing but not as bad after adjusting the bridge height on low E side.

still need to do more and maybe raise the high e side slightly.

The worst was on the 14th on d string.

That neck has relief too when I put the notched straight edge on it.
Yesterday was fine.
But it needs time to settle. Looks like this will be a very slow process getting the intonation right.

This is why you should never trust a guitar store that does while-you-wait set-ups. Any set-up certainly needs at least one overnight waiting period followed by another check. Very small truss rod tweaks don't normally take that long to settle down, but anything more than 1/4 turn and you're better off waiting a good while before checking again.

To get your action as low as possible might require some light fret stoning and re-profiling. But one step at a time.

Hi Simon, yes a good point and at least if I learn correctly I can work towards getting it perfect.

If I can get the action close to my ibanez I will be very happy.

I think I might need to buy some fretting tools. This isnt a once off Im going to keep building these kits and eventually try a scratch build further down the track.

Forgot to add...there is a tiny amount of bow with the notched straight edge.

I can see a very tiny gap between it and the fretboard so the neck has bow or concave.

I'll try another 1/4 turn clockwise to straighten the neck more.


Then tune it and let it rest overnight.
