Last night I did a full build of my Strat so I could get it set up in order to do a demo clip, I let the guitar settle in during the night, I managed to get the intonation dialed-in pretty well, the bridge set so that it floated to enable pull-ups on the trem-bar, and after I installed the bone nut, I used my set of nut-slot files, a X10 magnifier, and a set of Feeler-Gauges to get my 1st Fret action down to .020 inch, the action at the 17th Fret is an even 2.5mm for each string, each pickup height was set to Fender specs for Noiseless pickups, oh and the neck relief is set to .010 inch at the 8th fret, I'm getting very little fret-buzz up and down the neck, the three Entwistle ASN57 pickups are sounding really nice and I am liking them alot.
I found that I didn't need to install any string-trees on the headstock with the Gold Grover Mini-lockers I have used, here's a pic of the guitar as it is now, built up and playable:
One thing I did notice was that the nut-slots seemed a bit too narrow for the 42-09 Gauge strings I used to string the guitar, because of this I'm experiencing tuning issues due to friction in the nut-slots, applying some Big Bends Nut Sauce Lubricant doesn't seem to help much, some strings go a bit sharp and others go a bit flat.
I have swapped out the Gold Strap buttons for a couple of Ernie Ball Strap Locks.
I must add that this doesn't mean that the build process has ended, this guitar can be regarded as a work in progress.
