Wow, presume that is DT CG and it looks great. Lucky score with that that much grain in the body and it has really popped underneath that glassy topcoat.

Wow, getting closer to being finished... I decided I wanted to age it a bit so set out on a quest for road worn and relicing tutorials, also visited the guitar lounge in Sydney to check out some custom shop road worn Tele's.

After several hours of sanding, bashing and staining I am pretty happy with the result, i have gone back to the black pickguard and rubbed it back for a Matt finish, also used wood dyes and mixed up a colour for the neck, still working on it but feel like I am on home stretch.

Not a big fan of relicing unless its played in, but each to his own, i do like the way the grain pops though.

Will Kelly's book goes into a fair bit of detail about relic-ing. Especially the hardware.

Thanks for the resource. Not sure how much ageing to do on the hardware. I will check out his book.
    Cheers

I've got a copy of this book stashed away somewhere. The author builds and relics a Tele as the second build example in some detail. Not my cup of tea but he does a great job. Your Tele is coming along nicely

After mixing and testing, it took me a while but I finally got a colour for the neck that I am happy with.

I fitted the string ferrules using a soldering iron, that worked a treat! I definitely need a drill press next time I do string through ferrules.
