I have used W&N acrylic paint on a Guitar with good results.
Then gave it a coat of vynil sealer and then three coats of Nitro.

As for poo oil over acrylic paint, I have no idea how that will go.. Will wait with interest to see the results.

Meanwhile, take yourself off to the Naughty Warehouse for using poo oil. Wokka will pour you a beer

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

Yeah I'm thinking a light color with tru oil might not be the way to go i'm achieving neat colors with the acrylic paint but i'm weary about adding the oil. I'm a great fan of beer where do i find this naughty warehouse?

The poo oil might change the colour, as the stuff is a baby poo yellow....
Might pay to look at a polyurethane clear rattle can spray (if you dont have spray gear)
I would avoid using acrylic clear, it can look great for a while then do some funky things such as shrink and crack, go a bit milky or uneven.
Jarrod, who did our spray paint tute vids used to use acrylic but now avoids it because of some of these reasons.

Too bad dingotone can't be shipped overseas is this for technical reasons or because most customs dont allow it?

Hi Joe, the inks I mentioned before worked out fine under TO.

DB is right though in that it has a light amber colour and can turn blues a slight tinge of green as you can see in this shot. I have also attached one of a maple neck headstock to show the natural colour shade inherent in TO.

For some reason when I applied the tru oil over the stamp ink (got that idea from youtube) I was using it turned to poo, the acrylic however holds its color very well when TO is applied. Also the markers im using to draw the poison ivy figure would "bleed" into the grain making the edges quite blurry. This problem has also been eliminated with the acrylic paint.

For your poison ivy figure it may work better applied on top of your first clear top coat to stop it bleeding into the stain coat. This is how transfer paper type decals are added.

If the TO caused things to turn to poo maybe the stain was not fully dry perhaps? I usually do all the experimenting on a scrap bit of pine ply and have sometimes also applied 1st coat of TO with a 1" wide paint brush as using a rag straight up can cause things to go pear shaped.
