The guitar looks really nice, i would be happy with that.
Often what we start out with in our heads ends up nothing like we invisaged, my 335/12 being one of them.
Also these kits seem to put our luthier skills to the test, well our work around a problem skills at least.
AGGG! There is a small mistake in the txt.
where it states "4mm out of the pick guard rout" should be "4mm out of the bridge pup rout" moved it towards the bass side.
Haven't a clue how I put that incorrectly. (next move looks like a nursing home)

I just ordered my first, and a TL so I was checking these out - I gotta say, I don't mind the streaked blue - reminds me of denim. That's kind of rock isn't it?
Have had the body hanging for the last few weeks waiting for it to cure, on Sunday I thought surly it will be ready to finish but no.
The finish was cold, sticky and felt very soft. (although at first the sand paper just sort of scratched the surface then it started to roll {AGG AGG})
So! Yesterday i took to it with the sander, yep back to bare wood and the top coat off on the side.
Today it got two coats of blue and tomorrow I'll start to apply some top coats.
and I am happy with this and thought that, maybe, I should have done this in stead of trying to patch it up with just sanding the top, and trying to still have a lighter top, oh well.

I don't believe you have sanded it back AGAIN Rick ! what is the stain is it colortone or some printer ink ?
I reckon this tele started about 42mm thick and is probably 32mm thick by now. Don't sand through bottom of the control cavity !

Thanks for the thumbs up guys, and woke, thinking that a good name for this guitar could be "SLIM".
Applied another (2nd) coat of tru-oil today, and I really think that this will be the end of my sanding on this guitar. Just a few light rubs with the steel wool.
may be no need to post any more pics until it is assembled and final set ups.

You could call it Jenny Craig as it has surely lost a bit of weight haha!
Gave "Jenny (Craig)" another top coat, this is the 3rd, and I think it's looking ok. This is also be known as "Twiggy".
Have been giving it a light rub with 0x4 between the coats.
Will keep giving it a coat a day until Friday, let it sit for the weekend, then start the assembly and set-up.
The photo hanging up looks a bit dull but it's ok in the sun light may be the flash didn't work.
