I'm not sure how that will work, as the amber colour is a basic component of Tru-Oil. So unless you only add a couple of very thin coats of Tru-Oil, then you are always going to get an amber tint to things. The more coats, the more amber it will get. If you don't want that, then I'd go for a clear lacquer spray or wipe-on poly.
