Mandatory pics now taken, the BS actually looks darker and less translucent in the flesh.
The dark spots are where a forearm cut would be on a Strat and just below & behind the control cavity, the glaring black smudge at the back of the neck pocket will be under the scratch plate so I paid little attention to it when sanding back.
