This afternoon's effort.
Found some wilkinson humbuckers in my box'o'stuff. Thought they might be better than the stockies so I enlarged the pickup routes to fit them. Gave the body a sand ready for timbermate and shaped the headstock.

Isn't that a Flame Maple top?
I'm trying to understand why you have plastered it with timbermate.
Do you intend to finish it a solid colour without showing up the Flame?
That maple veneer on the top is only about .5 mm thick, Id be very careful when sanding it back in case you sand through it.
Nice work Fuzz! I did a similar thing in my es1g and grain filled with mahogany timbermate. The flame is really awesome after laying down the colour so I'm glad I did this step. Keep up the good work good beers.. Undoubtedly they go hand in hand!

Yeah it did seem like overkill to put all that goop on to fill a couple little spots only to sand most of it off, lucky I didn't have much on this arvo. It cleaned up alright and found and fixed a couple little glue spots while I was at it.
Put some colour on the body found a few more spots that wouldn't take the stain especially along the join in the veneer, just about to do some forum searching to see find out how to fix it up. I think I read somewhere about using a small wire brush.

Wow! That's a great colour, Fuzzbeard! You've got great grain pattern both front and back.
The wire brush should break up the smooth surface of the glue.

I promise I wont send you to the naughty room for shopping at the BGSFOS, 'cause that would be the easiest place to get small brass wire brushes....
There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
