Hmm yeah @Andy it's possible that this was the issue, but can't be sure. Needs a bit more experimentation. I've used Tru-Oil under acrylic on other woods and it worked ok.

Looking good Gav, I've been having similar woes with acrylic. I think I experience a new issue every time I use it. Reminds me I should update a few builds...

Thanks Stan . Yeah I have no issues with solid colour or with Maple veneer. Even basswood seems no issue. Dunno what I'm doing with the ash. Very intersted to hear your updates dude!

Hey guys,
Bubbles ruining the finish and so on. Not sure what I'm doing or not doing, but I really don't want another repeat. Anyway home straight now I hope.

Hmmmmmm... Could be a few things, humidity can cause bubbles and milky looking finishes or it is the NO used under the Acrylic.

Glad you got it sorted, time to upgrade and get a compressor and gun to make life easier

Oh, and that body will make for a very flasy Cricket bat

Hey guys,

I finally got an hour today to work on the cricket bat. The acrylic has been leveled with 1500 grit, finished with 2000 grit and then one round with the Meguiars Ultmate Compound. She's looking nice and shiny already.
