    Knobs from Xcentric Guitars

I just posted updated pics of two basses where the only thing that has changed are the knobs. I had knobs on these basses prior to the ones from Xcentric, but they never looked quite right to me. I am not sure why this bothered me so much...but it did. So I shopped dusty corners of the internet looking for knobs that would work. I tried bakelite knobs and chrome knobs, vintage knobs, knobs from military contractors that had gone out of business... And then one day found these guys on eBay.

...and then kept searching, because how good could "resin" knobs actually be? But I eventually came back to them after "investing" in a bunch of knobs that now live in plastic boxes, where they will most likely stay until the archeologists find them.

So I gave them a try and the color was great. Even better, they were nothing like the cheap plastic I expected. These are super hard and solid knobs. They look and feel great. And the guys at Xcentric were great too. They will custom drill knobs for Asian or US spec pots. When I went to them a second time, I did not find the color I was looking for. So I sent them a paint swatch and they made the color for me!

You won't find any ordinary knobs there. Nothing in metal or the standard F or G knobs. But if you are looking for something different it's worth a look.

Haven't seen the Autumn Series IRL, but on the website they look really elegant.

When I saw the Halloween Series my head went immediately to Mr. Scary, or bride of Mr. Scary, or perhaps something coming out of the Frankenlab....

Mr Scary is needing some eyeballs! I'm not sure if I'm willing to give him any though!
