My initial thoughts were to build a black guitar, but now that I have the kit I'm leaning more towards a stain finish. One of the difficulties of living abroad is finding the paints and finishes I will need and a place to apply. Currently, for this one I may start with finishes from Crimson Guitars. They can ship internationally and have a wide range of colors and finishing oil to use.

Not sure which one I will go with. I already own a Fender Strat American Deluxe with a transparent red finish. It has an Ash body and a rosewood fretboard which is why I went with the maple fretboard on the kit. I bought it new in 1999.

I plan on starting the diary when I get going on the kit. Thanks for the welcome.

Hi FrankenWashie, I live in Taoyuan, Taiwan. It is about 30 km from Taipei and where the international airport is located.

Yeah I know it, I spent six months working out of Kaohsiung a few years back and had a blast. Its a really cool place but I never flew through Taoyuan as we hopped directly into Kaohsiung from Hong Kong. Look forward to seeing your build diary on this one!
