Theres actually lots of wildlife back there.. my property abuts a large conservation area. We have turkeys, whitetail deer, coyotes, foxes, lots of squirrels... I think my camera was more focused on beer that day! Lol. Summer can get into the high 90's, or can be 75... it can be 80% humidity or dry as can be. Thats the beauty of living in New England... if you don't like the weather, just wait...

Hi Dave, was trying to figure out where in Oz it may relate to? Maybe Canberra or possibly Melbourne or anywhere in Tasmania except for the depth of snow as we never get 8 feet of snow in suburbia.

Sounds like an interesting place with loads of early US historical significance.

Our region is definitely the epicenter of US History. It's funny because growing up here, and travelling around the states a bit, New England obviously has the oldest architecture, cities and history in the states. At least as far as European colonists are concerned.. Then, I travelled to Ireland for a 10 day trip. Europe is f#@%$ing OLD!!! Some of the things I saw in Ireland made Boston look like a newborn... We do have beautiful beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers as well as bustling cities. I live about 40 min drive (on a good traffic day) North of Boston. Im about 11km west (metric system is so much easier) from the Atlantic, about 60km south of the beginning of the White Mountains... I have pretty much everything within an hours drive in any direction. I love it here. Id love to travel more though... lol.. time and money prevent that!

They say here in Melbourne we have 4 seasons in a day, but the northern cities (Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane) seem to get smashed more by storms and floods than us, we just have to contend with the storms blowing up off the Southern Ocean over winter, or the dust storms blowing on from the Mallee on a hot northerly over summer.

In these parts the greenies would be blaming it on global warming when it is probably just part of the usual weather pattern cycles that have occurred may times over past decades.

Now that I've bought myself a new Digital Camera, I'll see if I can get some pics of around Darwin for you guys this coming fortnight, I need to go buy a bigger sim card for the camera first though, so stay tuned.
