    Jean-phi's IB-5

    Hello!!!
A week and a half after ordering, my parcel has landed in France. I've just unpacked and checked my IB-5 kit and everything seems to be here. The mock build is alright and it's time to start sanding.

Cool! I'd love one of those. Good luck with the sanding!

I've now sanded and sanded and the wood has it's littles bumps gone away. Before the next level of sanding, I've shielded the cavities with graphite paint and adjusted the neck. Here it is...

Looking good with plenty of Ash grain to work with.

Nice kit, what are your plans for finish?

After three days of sanding, it has received it's first layer of black dye.
It will then receive one or two others layers and then I will apply oil to
    give it a smooth touch.
I'm going to put a ash plating on the headstock to dye it the same way
I do it on the body.

I like it, will the oil finish be Danish oil or Tung oil?

I'm going to use some polymerized linseed oil. It's a special mix a luthier made for me.
