Back in the Man Cave, slowly getting the vibe for the tools again..

Got some beautiful palm planes in to carve the top on the '59 LP build, so busy getting used to using and sharpening tiny plane blades.. Love 'em!

So rather than hook in and run the risk of self induced touretts, I have been playing around with a few PBG kits that needed some minor tweaks.

A JB4 body ASH! with the mankyest pocket rout in history.
JB4L neck, headstock was on a strange tilt....

Neck fits body perfectly..... Hmmmmmmmmmm..... What to do??..............

I forgot to add that the heel of the neck was convex......
So into the routing jig to flatten it.
Whilst I was at it I machined a slight break angle.. No idea on the angle, it was a case of set it up in jig, tap the butt end down and machine resulting angle......
It is Steam Punk afterall

A convex heel? must of been made just before xmas break

I do alot of metal detecting, relics and gold, i have stuff here the steam punk artists would go crazy for.

It is heavy... For now...
The Ash body is quite meaty, add the Overlord and it becomes rather bum heavy..... Better that than the gubson neck dive

well you won't know how it sits untill you put the strap pins on. With the heavy bridge it might end up being an upright bass on a strap haha
where is the truss rod adjustment in this neck - nut or heel end ? If it was at the nut end how did the new headless fitting go on ?

EDIT - what's the bet the very first thing you did was rip the frets out ?

Looking great already DB. Can we get a close up shot of that nut end of the fretboard? Would be very interested if you could explain the setup a bit more, it's all alien to me. I guess the strings are threaded from the nut end? Looking forward to more steampunkedness.
