Still working on my first PBG kit, but decided to run a couple of projects in parallel. Will have to see how that works out. So, a JR-1M (Jr-1dc). Might be slow progress, but hoping to get the mock build check done very soon.
So, the unboxing.

- Sam
IB-5 - was finished, considering re-finishing body
IB-6S - done.
JR-1M - dressing frets and electronics build
ST-1 - still wondering how to install a tremelo
Telebass - non-PBG from parts buiild - painting body
I haven't quite decided what I'm going to do for the finish of this one.
Options I'm considering include clear coat the neck with no other stain, veneer the headstock to make the front black, swap out the pickup, pots and caps for upgrades.

Good stuff, looks great. These JR's are awesome kits. Mine has become my main go-to-axe, great fun to play. You've got some nice grain action going on with the fretboard and body looks good

Really nice grain on both the body and fretboard! Looks great
So I got the body back from being routed yesterday.
I don't have a proper router, so I had this done.
The original bridge pickup route has been enlarged to take a soapbar P90 instead of the provided dogear.
A neck pickup route has been added.
I have a set of Orpheus '58 style P90 pickups made by local David Paul that I'll be installing.

nice one Sam. A Neck pickup will make this a unique Jr build and give you heaps more sounds.
Has the person thats done the routing drilled a hole from neck to bridge pup ? You will need a really long drill bit to do this if he hasn't. You might have to enlarge the hole from bridge pup cavity to control cavity to fit the extra wires. Are the pickups just a hot and earth wire or 4 wires (splittable) ?
Also you will need a switch so you may have to ditch the tone pot or make the cavity bigger for a switch?
Looking at the distance between the 2 holes you may fit a switch between them

Yes, they added a hole for the neck pickup wire.
Just a hot and earth/shield. Braided wire. The hole from the bridge to cavity was about 8mm already. I expect to have to channel it a bit lower in the bridge pickup route so the pickup can sit all the way in the route.
I may be able to fit a switch between them. Haven't quite decided what I'm doing there. One thought is concentric volume and tone dual gang pots. Another is that there may actually be enough room there for four pots and knobs. Perhaps not normal sized speed knobs. Wiring it up on a drop in metal plate harness may be the go.
