    Question XBF-1 Humbucker wiring

    Hello fellow Pitbull builders.
I'm a fair way into my build, I'll be up loading pics to show my progress, but I've come stuck with the wiring of the humbuckers. Basically the 3 way switch cavity is separate from the volume cavity. So when I'm feeding the humbucker wiring through the body the Hot wires are to go to the switch while the Ground wire is to go to the volume. Can this wire be altered to suit. I just need the pickup wire to be able to split into 2 directions.
I hope this is understandable and thanks in advance.

    Hi Slack Babbath,

I'm not familiar with this kit. Is it 2 humbuckers, 2 pot and a 3-way switch?

    Like https://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-co..._tele_2014.pdf ??

If it is - I would have the hot and ground wires from the pups all going to the 3-way switch. (it will mean that you solder 3 wires to the ground lug - the 2 pup ground and the switch ground). Then the switch hot wire and the switch ground wire will go to the control cavity to the pots. That should work. I would not split the pup wires in 2 directions!

    I have found a picture of an XB-1 kit - so 2 pups, 1 pot, and a 3-way switch?

Is there a channel directly from the switch cavity to the volume cavity? Or does the switch hot and the switch ground have to go back through the pup cavities? Either way I would probably do the same as mentioned in post 2!

I built an IB-7 for my son which is the same sort of configuration. From memory, I did exactly what Trevor said. Not much room to move in the switch cavity, so it's advisable to shield the ground wires to avoid shorting when you stuff everything in the hole - ask me how I know.
