    PB-30M Green Short Scale P-BASS! :)

    Hi Everyone!

First time guitar builder here, heaps excited to start building my very own bass, but unfortunately sent me the wrong neck
I asked for a maple fretboard but recieved a neck with the rosewood Board, so will have to wait til thats sorted out to start.

ive been forever drooling over Fender P Basses and just thinking i will never afford a real p bass or can even justify spending thousands of dollars on one, i found out that i can just build one myself!

I like the sound and feel of a short scale, and as someone with smaller hands ive always struggled to get around a long scale neck.

will go for a traditional Fender headstock shape and it will be painted to match the body

will post updates with photos ASAP

for now though i have chosen the colour i will paint this bass

So I couldn't help myself so I went to the workshop last night and got started 😁
I clamped the neck to the body and found it has a nice tight neck pocket, and then went ahead and found the scale length and centre line down the the body.
    FIRST MISTAKE 😆
I didn't have a pencil so I drew my markings using a pen and now I can't erase my mistakes, tried sandpaper and that didn't really work either , my mistakes will stare me in the face until I add paint 😅

Hi Louidee, Im waiting on my kit to arrive, got the same one as yours. Bummer on the pen mark you may be able to lift it using metho, but possibly leave an indentation form the point of the pen, maybe some grain filler might be able to hide it. This will be my first kit, I have high expectations in the build with a few upgrades. I'm a carpenter by trade, if you need to make any further markings my suggestion would be to use some painters tape over the body and mark it up before doing anything else. Good luck with it.
