    Archtop Quilted Tele

So I got hold of a couple of pieces of Silkwood (QLD Maple) with some really nice quilting, and I'm planning a Tele shape with a LP style archtop carve.
I'll be going a double humbucker config with a TOM bridge and a trapeze tailpiece. I'll be doing the classic Tele control layout, but coming through from the back so as to keep the top clean and eliminate the need for a control plate.
I'm planning a black/blue burst similar to the LP in the pic with a faux antique white binding and natural back/sides.

    Body glued and clamped.
Apart from glue everywhere the neck's in pretty good shape, best part is at least the tuner holes will be in the right place.
Made up a template for the neck pocket and had a practice run on some scrap, fits like a glove.

Positioned the template and held down using the masking tape/super glue trick.
    Routed the pocket without incident.

Being part of the maple family, it's pretty hard and brittle but luckily I got away without any chipping.

nice one, so how thick is the blank 40 or 45mm ?
not sure what width you need for an archtop.
So this could be the last Barge and Woks show thread !

From memory it was 43mm, so should be heaps for a nice carve on top, I'll make it work one way or another.
Yeah/nah, I'll probably still post scratchies in here
