Long time coming

I ordered a STA-1M ash body kit back in July 2019, but I was working overseas at the time. It was delivered to my home, but then COVID hit and the Aus Govt limited repatriation to 50 people per day, so I didn't actually get home until August 2020. Then life had taken over and this beautiful kit was delicately packed away "until I had time". Now, I'm back, so this will be day one of my attempt to uncover the beautiful instrument hidden beneath.

I had previously printed out my instructions, but I'll probably need to revisit all of that to see what methods have been updated since then.

I like the ST in ash. I have built a hardtail version and a softtail.

TD, that red strat was really killer looking.

Waz, I think I have the record for longest completed project. I bought a body and neck in about 1987 and finished them will a light clear coat. Every once in a while, I acquired some parts for it, but did not really get back to it until 2019. By 2020, it was done! I don't even have a good excuse like "My government wouldn't let me near it".

There is one good thing about letting it sit. The wood in the neck and body age and stabilize. A lot of body and neck producers don't really let the wood age sufficiently before shipping. Not an issue for those of us who procrastinate ;-) Some people even claim that the tone improves if you let the wood age a bit.

32 years of procrastination! Wow, that guitar must have an awesome tone
