Hi, I am a drummer that has suddenly decided that I want to make things, and guitar kits jumped out at me as a great craft to get into. I have a guitar, but it's not very nice and doesn't inspire me to play so I thought I'd buy a diy kit, build it and then use that to learn properly.
I originally bought a kit from a chinese shop that has aussie prices and uses paypal, well that was nearly three months ago now and they still haven't sent anything. To scratch the growing and insistent itch, I bought a st-1 from pbg to build and give to my mum. I really enjoyed that process, luckily the one they sent was really good, so I didn't have to do fret levelling, just some nut filing and saddle adjustments. She loves it, and my wife got jealous and wanted one too, so that's currently being worked on. Still no word from the other place, so I bought a sms-6q kit so I, too can have something to play, and am eagerly waiting for that to show up.
TLDR; Hello, I have been bit by the bug. Hard.
