Fitting the neck into the neck pocket

Hello! This is my very first time building anything that’s not legos lol. I’ve got a question to start off my guitar-building journey.

I am trying to begin by making sure I have all the parts I need to complete my guitar kit before I do anything else. I am trying to place the neck into the neck pocket part of the guitar and the neck is too big. What is the solution for this? Do I have to sand the neck? Do I have to sand the neck pocket?

    Thanks!

    Hi bkirk00,

The neck heel is tapered. It can only be put into the neck pocket by pushing it down from above the body. It will not slide into place along the line of the neck. It will probably be a tight fit! The tele' kits that I have done did not require any major sanding of the neck or pocket.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks, Trevor! I got it to fit right before you sent that message I was afraid of pushing it in too hard but I got it!
