Hi all. new member, I am about to start on a PB SG build, and while I am diving into memorizing the instructions and figuring out what tools/supplies I should be gathering, does anyone have any suggestions and/or advice for preparatory steps I should take?

Treat it as a learning process - let the instructions be adjusted to how things go as you proceed.
Always use something for "practice" before you do it to your kit where possible. It takes a bit of the apprehension out of it.
And ask questions. You will not have any that are not worth asking. The members are pretty good (even if afterwards you think it was obvious).

my advice is pick your kit take time to make a plan, figure out what finish you want if its your 1st time don't pick a kit that need advance skills SG OR Strat or a Tele are great starter kits, you don't haft to deal with binding which is easy to mess up with, post your plan and can give you an idea what products you'll need theirs still a few guys who have done a few guitars and their experience can help you if you need help their all pretty cool dudes so don't be scared asking, they will give you great support. you'll end up with a killa guitar and its very rewarding making your own
