Strat from an Eston electric guitar body.

I needed to find a set of pickups to put in my HotRod Strat because I didn't have anything useable amongst my bits and pieces, so, I went to my local Cash Converters store to see if they had anything that had a bridge humbucker, middle single-coil, and neck single-coil pickup configuration that I could buy to use for parts, they had an Eston Superstrat in stock which had the pickups I needed, and costed me only $160.00, so I bought it and installed the pickups from it in my HotRod Strat, turned out they all worked, anyway, I was thinking about what I could do with the body when I decided to see if my 22 Fret Maple Strat Neck, which I was going to use on my Gold Strat, would fit in the neck pocket of the Eston body, surprisingly, it fitted perfectly, all I needed to do was to dowel the existing mounting-screw holes in the neck, and then drill new ones in order to install it on the Eston body, I also tried seeing if the Gold Strat scratchplate would fit the body and it turned out that it would, the existing mounting-screw holes will need to be doweled, but that's fine, I even managed to find a Chrome Strat Bridge I could use, I can also use the existing springs and spring claw as well, so, I'm shelving the Gold Strat project for the time being, but will come back to it later on, meanwhile, I'm going to make a Strat out of the Eston body, I pretty much have all I need except for three 250k CTS Pots, and a 0.1uF Tone Cap.

@ Stan maybe you need to learn to play a right handed axe. Are you naturally a lefty ? I'm a lefty but play righty

Top effort Woks as I jammed with plenty of mates in my youth who were leftys and also played right. They all had a killer neck technique with that being their dominant hand. Just had to get the strumming and picking dexterity up to speed in their 'dead' hand but that didn't seem to hold them back for long.

Hey Stan, you could always do a Hendrix tribute? I nearly bought a Lefty Squire a couple of years ago as it was extremely cheap but the seller withdrew it off eBay before end of the auction so I went and bought a 'Righty' Pacifica instead. Only drama with an upside down Strat is the control knobs getting in the way a bit plus the Trem is in the wrong place too.

Agree that Crime Converters can have the odd bargain from time to time but they also seem to have an over abundance of crap mostly.

I can't see any real reason why a lefty shouldn't learn to play a 'right-handed' guitar (as long as it's from scratch). Both hands are busy and arguably, the left hand more so for a 'righty'. Whist it is possible to set up an electronic keyboard to be left-handed, nobody bothers, and leftys can play the piano just as well as rightys.

What is harder is re-learning to play the other way round once you've been playing a while, as the brain's pathways have already been programmed to play the other way round, making it a lot harder to swap.

Funny you should mention that Simon as about 20 years ago my eldest Son's guitar teacher was left handed and learned to play right and then decided to go full Paul McCartney and had to re-learn everything Lefty style. Needless to say he was damn good and possibly better for it as he could pick up any axe and be truly ambidextrous without worrying about where the Low E was all the time.

Being a person who is right-hand dominant, I always have a lot of difficulty trying to play left-handed, and my coordination isn't the greatest even when I do play right-handed, I have recently found that one of my best talents is dropping things, or fumbling, usually I end up dropping something on the floor, only to spend half an hour looking for whatever I dropped, I never used to do that when I was younger though.

I too suffer from annoying small item dropped on the floor syndrome. I now start searching 'at a distance that it possibly couldn't have bounced to' and work my way in. Often saves a lot of time.

Telescopic magnets are great if the thing dropped is metallic enough to be found with one.

I'm not sure how true it is, but I was under the impression that what we call a Right-hand guitar was originally designed by a leftie, because the left hand was the one doing all the work, and was more dominant.

Who knows as a quick google search suggests AD 1265 was when first guitar may have been built.

wish I learned left handed, my left hand suffers from Ducatiharleyclutchitus and is less dexterous than the right LOL

That reminds me of something generally known as "Murphy's Law", which states "That which can go wrong, will", apparently there are a lot of corollarys, which are related to Murphy's Law, there's one that states "A dropped object will gravitate to where it can do the most damage", there's another one that states "If N number of stocked items are needed, there will be N-1 items actually in stock", from what I have read online, there have been some university studies of Murphy's Law.

I think it's simply quantum level uncertainties manifesting themselves in real-world situations.

And the thing about quantum-level uncertainties is that the moment we try to observe them, we change them as per Quantum Physics, hence the uncertainty-factor.

And until we observe them, everything is possible.

So if you didn't see it fall, it could have ended up anywhere. Guitar picks are most prone to this. I should be walking on a 2" thick layer of lost guitar picks, but I'm not.

Yep, and with Quantum Physics, there's an infinite number of possibilities, what's really interesting about something that falls onto the floor, after being dropped, is that it can go in any direction within a full 360 degrees, and it will always choose the direction you least expect it to go, and it doesn't just fall to the floor, it also bounces as it travels in the direction least expected, and for some reason the dropped object seems to like going in the direction which guarantees that it will end up under something, making you think that you're suffering from selective blindness.

Here's another phenomenon I tend to encounter a lot, you go to look for something that you were using either the day before, or a few minutes ago, you spend anything from a few minutes, up to an hour looking for it, only to end up giving up, but just before you give-up, you find something else totally unrelated to what you're looking for, and then remember that you were looking for whatever it is you found only a week ago, that has happened to me quite a few times in the past.

Another one is where you're trying to remember the name of something, or someone, and you know that it's on the tip of your tongue, but you just can't seem to remember, the following day, you will be doing something completely random, and you will suddenly remember the name you were trying to remember the day before, have had that happen to me lots of times.
