nice one DK, I got a set of 52 spec tele pups for my baritone tele, can't wait to hear how they sound.
which tele are the blackguard pups going in and is the lap steel existing or a new build ?
sounds good DK, I remember your mate didn't know what pup to put in his lap steel.
good advice Dave, I reckon the P90 will give the lap steel some life and your mate will be happy with it.
The current P90 has a really flabby bottom end and no real clarity across the strings, Tony's original suggestion was a split coil bucker but I don't want to have to mod the lappy unless absolutely necessary.
The wind of new P90 should open the articulation up and tighten the bottom end which is all he wants
The 52 Tele pups are now in place and are brilliant, very articulate and much more responsive.
That was with the old strings, will be fitting a new set of 10s before rehearsals tonight.
If the P90 is half as good in my mates lap steel he is going to be very happy
awesome news DK, I thought the tele pups would sound brilliant
New strings are on and the whole sonic shooting match just went up another notch
excellent DK, would love to hear a quick sound demo mate !
I put the Village P90 into the lap steel last night.
The clarity and articulation is brilliant and the flabby bottom end is gone, just a nice fat clean sound.
The A3 magnet no doubt helps to tame the normal raucous nature of the P90.
Tony was well aware of the specs of the SX P90 that was in the lap steel and wound this new one to meet Bob's wishes, Bob is now a very happy lap steel player
Hey DK. Glad Bob is happy with the new sound of his lap steel. Heaps cheaper than buying a new lap steel. Look forward to hearing the Tele sound demo mate
