I might be interested in a set of tele, strat or humbuckers, might send you a private message to have a chat about it if you are up for winding a set, no hurry

Looks great Tony. When I get my new glasses (getting old) I'll try winding my own pups again. Really interested to hear how she sounds.

Yeah mate it gets a bit hard on the eyes, i have a few magnifying units to wear but i get it done quicker with my specs on.

These are for a build thats being developed, Woks.
I am wanting to build the Bass that will scare the heck out of satans Bass player.
A Bass so evil it will make Rammstiens Bassist Oliver Reidel simultaniously poo and wee his pants.

Wasn't that already part of Rammsteins stage show last tour?

Are you going to be coating this in Vanta Black, the black so black that it doesn't reflect light?
The black so black that you have to be a fourth circle satanist (or 5th level vegan) to be evil enough to be permitted to paint with it?
The black so black that even dark goths think it might be too black?

You could do a reverse burst, with a lightened edge and Vanta Black at the centre, so that when a person gazes upon this thing of evil you have crafted their soul becomes drawn into the bass and they remain there in limbo adding their spectral voices to the minor notes!

Or am I over thinking this thing?

Yeah thats another $100 to set that up, then go out and buy wax, its a good setup though, and i thought that one out myself. :p

nice tutorial Tony, it is probably easy to you who have been doing it for years. Sure there is so much to learn winding your own pickups and learning from mistakes the hard way on the way !

Its a thinking mans game the old pickups, and i do wiring as well so icop it from both directions lol. You get asked for some radical moves thats for sure, sometimes the best is looking you in the eye, with all this over wound under wound, scooped mids etc etc, with over wind you get more bottom, with an underwind you get more tops, to scoop the mids use different magnets combinations etc etc, i just like to be up front and if someone doesnt like my wind they can give it back and i will refund the bucks or wind another differently.

People say they want to hear this and that, once we leave the domain of the guitar we are into the leads then the effects then the amps, there is alot of variables make up a sound.

There are some mean tricks i can pull with that baby once i get my head around the software properly.
