Hey fellow forumieees,
Whilst waiting for a couple clients guitars to heal (cure) I thought I would have a go at this . Now not normally my cup of tea but well I had to make one. So out of Fiji Mahogany I made a real girly top.

Looks cool Jrod. No limit what you can do on a cnc!
Nice idea Jrod, still not sure you'd be safe from the telenapper...
Wow. Pretty!
Very nice indeed
love it! especially with the bordered bit as well
What a great Telecaster shape .Did you do this on the CNC not digging the flat carving but that's a personal thing nice guitar.
Thanks for sharing
hey Laz yes Jarrod would have done that build on CNC. Would hate to know how many hours it would have taken by hand to carve that top !
Hi Wokka yeah. Guess I'm spoiled my father has Zemaitis Carved Guitars. Lovely Tele just think carving spoils it .No offence Jarrod.I agree Wokka setting the cnc the drawing. Then waiting 2-3 hours for cnc to cut them out .Very time consuming.Must of took weeks to set it all up
None taken Laz.I actually am not a fan myself but after selling Nebulars and other required shapes I thought I would have a play at something different. It actually only took 2 hours to draw and 20 mins to cut.
Wow 2 hours to design guitar and do all the carve detail is blistering fast. You must have also have a very fast CNC,to cut a complete guitar in 20 mins. It normally takes me longer to set them up than that. Then I have to cut them lol.
Laz I think Jarrod meant the pattern took 20 mins to cut. The tele body would take much longer than that I'd suspect
Jeez was gonna enter him in the cnc olympics lol
yeah would need to add a turbocharger to the CNC to cut the body and pattern in 20 mins !
And a great degree of skill too.And possibly some missing fingers.
Body takes an hour to cut guys but if you include gluing the wood together.......
thats pretty quick Jrod,
so a contoured body would take alot longer than a flat body hey mate ?
Haha, yes Laz101, Jrod has kindly had a number of us over to his mancave to see his CNC and his Spraybooth. He is an absolute wiz on CAD (?-i think thats his design program but could be wrong). We all left his place reluctantly since we could no longer play on his toys and have ever since been highly envious of his talents, his spraybooth and his CNC machine!
PS - No missing fingers from what I saw but I think he has come close.....
Doh shucks Gav
very nice Tele carve J.
Yeah you gotta love Teles
Nice work Jarrod!
Little update. I have gone for a sraight oil finish on this one as nitro would have been a headache with the carve and all but I'm getting happier
And one of the back with my tummy cuts and neck joint cut
Fiji mahogany can boast some nice grain. View from the top
very nice Jrod good work bro, so is this sprayed with tru oil did it work through the gun thinned down ?
Yup worked a treat Wokks.
