well, I couldn't resist...I strung her up this morning, then asked myself...why did you glue the nut on when it is way too high? (could have sworn I'd tested it , that's the only prob doing more than 1 build at a time...turns out I'd tested the ES nut)
Sounds nice, real rich on both pick ups the bridge one sounds very promising for some surf sounds, tried it with Doc's Dr Fuzz pedal and a delay and found myself lost in the desert with a horse with no name :P
So... nut back off tomorrow
I've been waiting for a set of black rear covers for this and a black neck plate, the packages arrived....the pot cavity plate doesn't fit, not even close and the black neck plate was engraved "Lion by Washburn" LOL that will teach me to buy cheap! So it's back to repainting the supplied covers from the kit. I put the neck plate on, what the hell. Also took about a mil off the bottom of the bone nut, she plays nice now. I noticed a couple of areas need a slight sand and re polish, so I'll call it nearly finished.
And....finished. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I noticed a couple of spots need some more polishing, I'll get to that... Sounds great, a bit hummy despite a good earth and shielding but mostly noticable if I crank up the gain which I don't really do much. Reverb on 11 she gives the tely a run for its money Not bad for a rescue case.
